The Chinese Chamber of Commerce has awarded more than 130 scholarships to Ethiopian students. The ceremony has taken place at the Addis Ababa University of Science and Technology. In a sign of deepening ties between China and African countries ... 15 Senegalese students are on their way to China to further their studies. The young people are recipients of scholarships from the China Road and Bridge Corporation. The bursary gives them an opportunity to study at a Chinese university for five years.
In South Africa, 32 students have been given the opportunity to study in China. They're pursuing qualifications in various fields, including engineering, business, economics and Mandarin studies. Some 200 African students will benefit from the chance to study at Edinburgh, thanks to a new package of scholarships. The University of Edinburgh's partnership with The MasterCard Foundation will allocate $27 million over seven years.
